Nest $179.99 at Home Depot w/ Best Buy price match

+1 Deal Score

Today I purchased 2 Nest thermostats for $179.99 at Home Depot. Let them know that Best Buy has them for $199.99. They will beat there price by 10% making them $179.99 each.

This is a better deal than the $183 Rakuten deal. You're getting it immediately from a reputable source (Home Depot). The sellers on Rakuten are third party which I'm always wary of.This is probably the current best deal out there. I just picked one up. Although the associate didn't know about the additional 10% off, they were able to add it after she checked around.

Manager at local Home Depot said they normally don't pricematch Best Buy, just Menards and Lowe's. After some discussion, she finally said yes to the pricematch but not with the additional 10%. I may try another Home Depot later this week.

yea the associate wasn't aware of the additional 10% but was fine with it after I mentioned it. tell them it's their company policy and is posted on their own website. And btw that manager clueless. the policy states they match from ANY retailer. not just menard's and lowe's lol

https://www.homedepot.com/c/PM_New_Lower_Price

"How the Low Price Guarantee works for in-store purchases: If you find a current lower price on an identical, in-stock item from any retailer, we will match the price and beat it by 10%. Just bring the ad, printout or photo with you to the register for validation. (This may involve the associate contacting the competitor)."

The Rakuten deal is tax free, so for those of us living in high tax states, yea, Rakuten is a better deal

I went to Home Depot today to try to get the Best Buy price match for the nest. The CSR there gave me the same story. "We only price match similar stores to us like OSH or Lowe's. I then pointed to a sign right underneath her and recited their story policy which clearly states that they price match ANY retailer. She hesitantly agreed and went on to give me the $199.99 price. I then had to request the extra 10% off of the $199.99 price as stated by their policy. She then went to the computer, changed the price again, and called a manager to get approval. 45 minutes total for this entire process but at least I get my Nest for $179.99+tax on the same day.

Just picked up 2 for the house today! Just like many of the other commentors, I had to argue with 3 different employees and show them the policy on their website before I was escalated to a manager who actually knew the policy and agreed to price match + 10% for me. It seemed like every employee's default answer was "No, we don't price match 'them'". But if you are persistent and stand your ground, you'll eventually get someone that either knows what they're doing or doesn't want to argue anymore so you'll get the discount.
