Eh. Tempting, as it's probably indestructible and has an active stylus ... but:
  • It's really heavy (weighs more than a 13" MacBook Air)
  • Celeron CPU is old, slow, and basically a rebadged low-end Atom processor
    • I know, cheap, right? But still - this is slower than some of the newer Atom processors (the z-series, I believe) which pop up in other cheapo tablets from Walmart, etc.
  • The aforementioned recall is concerning.

Ordinarily I defend these cheap little laptops when people shit on them, but for almost $300 you can do a LOT better than this.. I'd probably even question it at $150

It's 3+lbs too, so this has basically nothing going for it

I've been looking for a new active digitizer incorporating (pen) computer/tablet.

All I can say about this is, stay away. You can get cheaper devices that fit the performance this will have, and the pen performance will be awful with this: N3350 [cpubenchmark.net]. (especially note the single thread performance)

Wait for a similarly cheap m3 [cpubenchmark.net] based 13" convertible from Dell (one example that I know I've seen even below this price) if you want a touch screen device in this space. It won't have an active digitzer, but they're just as cheap when they're on sale and they're much better specs and more importantly run MUCH better than this will. Honestly as much as I love active digitizer input devices in the tablet space, they really need at least an m3 grade processor to do well with any related software in order to be worth it.

For a counter comparison, here's a modern atom [cpubenchmark.net]. While it does have lower single thread than the N series celeron, it's much faster in anything multithreaded.
