Maybe. But I usually write those off as possibly people using incorrect (slower) power bricks or using phone cases that make many cables harder to slip through to reach the port.

I also considered them (if turning out slower) as possible car charging cables only, that you leave in the car. Like, if I'm drive 30 minutes somewhere I don't care personally if it is a benchmark between say Quick Charge 2.0 and 3.0 since the phone will probably be fully charged by whenever I get where I'm going.

My favorite (known reliable to me) brand is Anker which can be more expensive but 150% worthwhile having at least one of those as your primary leave at home/office cable.

I've had plenty of cheap no names cables (micro usb to be clear) fail and never heard of this brand however the reviews (minus the typical handful of shill) seem great here and on amazon, making it a worthwhile "risk" to get these as backups and heck if they are good they could be a main.

Avoid known junk USB C cables (example it is junk if it doesn't list a "56k resistor" because you can fry your phone. Luckily this cable says it has this so that is very good.

It normally means Free Super Saver Shipping -- so free if you have Prime or an order eligible with a certain amount of $$.
