Was searching for an under $1,000 electric bicycle and found a great deal at HomeDepot.com of all places (who knew they sold bicycles?). $649 and ships to your local Home Depot store for free. Reviews were solid and decided to pull the trigger.

This bike seems different than the one reviewed on electricbikereviews.com. that bike has an 8-speed internal hub, this one is 3-speed. Also, Home Depot' has a 1-year warranty whereas the EBR specs say 2-year comprehensive.

Has anyone given this bike a try?

So, any updates on the quality of this bike? The Home Depot site doesn't give the battery specs. Any info on that would be appreciated as well. I'm thinking about getting one.

I'm really enjoying this bike, delivery took a lot longer than expected. Upgraded it with a rear rack and a wider comfort seat (the seat that is included was a little too narrow) that I purchased on Amazon. It's perfect for me because all I need was a bit of e-assist to get up a hill to my house on my commute home. If you are looking for an electric bike where you want to hit the throttle and not pedal for a while, this isn't going to be a bike for you. It still requires you to pedal and put a little physical effort into your ride. But overall it rides great, the e-assist works great, it's got a cool hip look since it's an Italian bike and I only have to charge it once per evening on a 9 mile roundtrip ride from my house to my office. For the price I don't think I could have done any better.

Cool. Thanks for the update. Did Amazon price match the Home Depot price?

I just bought it on Home Depot, didn't bother to go the Amazon price match route.

Oh I misread your post. It was the bike seat you got on Amazon.

Cool. Thanks again.

How would you compare this bike to this one
urlhasbeenblocked Folding Electric Mountain bike https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LCZB...aBb57T4N42
on amazon? They seem to have the same specs but I just cant get over the "vintage" style. The amazon one looks bad ass!

Also, based on reviews of the Amazon one people say you can use this like a fully electric and get it up to speed than have the bike cruise. They say "Pedal assist" so does that mean it wont just cruise on its own? I would like an e-bike that will assist than take over if needed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like the bike comes in 26" and 28" wheel versions. Both have a 36v 10Ah battery.

The 26" versions gets a 3-speed shifter and the 28" gets the 7-speed.

Can you confirm if the 28" bike you got has 7 gears or 3 gears? There seems to be a conflict of specification, Homedepot list both the 28" and 26" as having the 3 speed Shimano Nexus gear (this is an internal gear), while the benellibike.com website says the 28" has the 7-speed Shimano Tourney (this is the regular external gear that most bicycles have).
