android tablet

These forums used to be full of android tablet deals, now almost nothing for months.
Minimum specs:
8-11"
3gb+ RAM
32GB+ memory
Android 6.0+

Would love better specs but don't really care to pay for them. If this thing lasts 2 years I'm happy. Was hoping to pay $50 to $100, though I'd prefer to go for the low end. I don't care at all where it comes from so long as the price is right. I don't care if there is a dev community or not; it will probably be for a kid, but I'm sick of the kindle fire walled garden.

Thanks. I found this thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/11475779-refurbished-ellipsis-8-hd-tablet-16gb-android-wifi-60-via-ebay?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Beside not having enough memory it seems like a decent tablet for my uses (I actually have the Trek 2 compared in that thread). Did you get one? Can you comment on quality?

Scratch that, I ordered an ellipsis 8 not realizing there is more than one model. Hopefully cancellation will go through. Thanks but your advice was bad.

Anyone else got a suggestion, with a link or maybe with at least a model number?

I just bought a factory refurbished Samsung Tab S 10.5 32gb from Blinq.com but it is more than your budget. They were an expensive tablet brand new and are still nicer than most cheaper models.

The 3gb of DRAM is the tough part. That seems to be only in the expensive tablets. They have some Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8 inch on sale right now that meet your requirements and are just barely over your budget. Poke around on the site. The deals change often.

The Tab S is an amazing tablet, even though it's a few years old. It's so amazing that prices on used ones are still somewhat high.

I agree completely. When mine started fritzing out; I looked at new ones and just couldn't pull the trigger. I found the factory refurbished one on BLINQ and have been very happy. Using it right now. It was going to cost a minimum of $150 to fix my old one and I didn't want to put more into it. Finding the motherboard for it wasn't easy, either nor are they cheap.

Sorry to hear that. Ellipsis 8 HD is the one I talked about.

I replaced the battery and charging report myself from parts from eBay. It wasn't too difficult.

I had previously tried a new battery but it didn't help. The charge port & motherboard were next steps & more work than I wanted to do on a 3 year old tablet. I am so happy with my replacement that I did order the charge port for less than $10 so I can hopefully have a backup. I don't want to spend the $100+ for a motherboard if that is the problem but if something happens to this tablet and the current models still aren't as good as my Tab S 10.5 twins--I guess I'll be buying a board.
