Bought these the last time around and there's a problem that seems to affect these headsets where the connection frequently drops out intermittently for a few seconds when the dongle is plugged directly into the PS4 USB port. I'm not sure how widespread the problem is but it was happening to me immediately after setting it up and Google searching the problem yielded many results of others experiencing the same problem. The workaround (which I am also using now) is to plug a USB extender into the PS4 then plug the dongle into the extender rather than directly into PS4. After doing this, I do not experience any drops, but obviously, that's a potential pain point. Also, the mic is pretty bad. I make a lot of YouTube videos for gameplay and the mic sounds like it's underwater. May be an outlier in my set but that's my experience with it. They are fairly comfortable, and nice looking clean design. Ears get a little hot after prolonged use. They work in 7.1 virtual surround sound for games, Blu-ray discs, and movie apps on the PS4. They work in stereo mode with the included aux cord for other devices with a headset jack. All in all, i'd purchase another headset if i'm looking for gaming specific cans, such as the ASTRO A40 deal today I'd jump all over if I hadn't just bought these three weeks ago. Hope this info helps.

Just bought these from pcmag for $85. Anyone know if they'll pricematch? If not I'll have to return them and buy at this price.

Platinum headset comes with 3D audio, which only a few games take advantage of it. And the speakers are a little bit better but other than that there's not much of a difference. I bought and returned the platinums because they were very tight and there wasn't a big enough improvement in sound quality.

I like the original golds more and Apparently these are a lot more comfortable.
