I am an ex-Sherwin Williams employee and have tested all their paints.

SuperPaint - Great coverage and the easiest to paint with. Good durability and Ok washability. Best all-around and great price. When in doubt, go with SuperPaint.

Cashmere - Great coverage and somewhat easy to paint with. Sets up beautifully. Good durability and washability. Very good price. I recommend it for someone without kids/pets.

Duration - Good coverage and a royal pain in the arse to paint with (drips). Great durability and great washability. Mildew resistance. Great for kitchens and bathrooms or homes with kids.

Emerald - like duration but less of a pain to use. Most expensive.

Lastly, YES, Sherwin Williams paints are better than the Walmart/Home Depot paints.

Get a 3/8 Purdy white dove roll cover and a good Purdy brush and you'll be set.

And yes, you can buy the paint now and bring it back to be tinted later.

I always buy non tinted gallons and get them tinted later.

NOOO. Worst post ever and it should be deleted from record. DO NOT use the pro classic satin or semigloss for painting a projector screen. That advice is based on a terrible and wrong article on projector central that is like 6-7 years old now. Head to the DIY Screen forums on AVS for paint advice, they will give you 30 lashes for mentioning such a thing.

If you want simple projector screen paint get Superpaint or Cashmere in FLAT and then choose a light gray color. Olympus White is pretty neutral and I have seen it work well in the past.

Finally back and I need a bunch of paint. Can anyone that has experience using SW paint recommend a good quality fair priced NON or low voc paint that would go good with this offer? Also, can I load up on several 5 gallon buckets of white paint and then get it tinted later when I figure out what color paint I want?

I have used superpaint and it is very good quality paint. There are more expensive lines like emerald and cashmere but I haven't used them.

How expensive are their paints. I usually buy Behr at Home Depot and stayed away from SW because I thought it had to be pricey. I have to buy a lot of paint so I would be willing to wait for this sale.

with this sale plus coupons, I always buy the 1 gallon super paint for about 35$ a gallon. I've used both and Behr and SW and I really like SW. Its thicker and runs less/covers betters.

I've covered my house in various SW paints, their cashmere, ovation, emerald lines are all excellent. Very happy with the quality and my painter says its really good quality and does an excellent job with it.

I always load up whenever they have these sales, it brings it down to about $30-40/gallon. Its worth it getting the best paint, the material cost is nothing compared to labor cost.

Used sw superpaint for 2 rooms vs behr mid level brand. Same color and get more compliments on the behr. Durability of sw is great but havent had issues with behr either. Will go behr for future paint jobs due to savings. Used purdy brand for all brushes and rollers with 2 coats of paint.

Use pro classic satin or semigloss. Do a quick Google search for the specific one to use. Had a few people mention it to me when I did work there that it worked great.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds good. I liked Behr because of the one coat coverage but if SW is the same or better, I will be happy for that price.

I don't like to paint. I like to paint a wall once and not do a second coat or have to worry about spots, so for me paying more is worth it. Always use Behr and been happy with the one coat coverage. I have three rooms to paint and all the same color. I was going to go to Home Depot tomorrow but willing to wait for the sale here.

Used the HGTV paint which was ~35 a gallon with the sale in the past and was super happy, 1 coat coverage and perfect. Just got done using some valspar from Lowes ~28 in my house and was also pleased with that as well 1 coat paint and primer (however I have noticed a couple spots needing a touch up but did use 5 gallons all in all

I painted my whole house with SW duration interior and Emerald exterior. I like their wall paints but for doors/windows/trims I will look elsewhere. Their semi gloss isnt shiny enough for my taste and doors/windows look pretty dull. Also it cracks a bit on crown molds. I would probably get benjamin moor for that purpose. Otherwise good paint.
