Are these essentially the same as the ion speakers sold at Costco?

I'm sure it's a nifty device, but beware that (at least according to the product specs on the webpage) this thing is kinda tiny. 10 x 8 x 8 inches. As for being 50W, well... hmmm. Still looks like a useful and interesting little device if there's a snowstorm and a blackout and you want to have a tiny party.

It might well *consume* 50 watts at its peaks, the 12v power input on the back says it takes a 2.5 amp power supply, and so 2.5 & 12 = 30 watts average power input is apparently being required from that kind of power supply. It's probably going to put out 10 - 15 watts or so on the average, but that can still sound plenty loud, and even put out some noticable bass especially if it's placed on a floor, near a wall, etc. As a (loud) toy for a child or teenager or large portable mono bluetooth speaker it doesn't look like a bad deal at all.

I wonder how this is as a guitar amp. Anyone tried that yet? I click the picture for the back of it and still can't make out what the connections are. Walmart definitely needs a zoom function on their images. NVM I figured out how to zoom in. Very interesting how it has separate input vs guitar input. Looks like it can play music straight from a usb flash drive on the back.

Read description. Says one guitar input.

PA system? Not even close. But probably a decent Bluetooth speaker.

Found a review where it is discovered that 50W rating is PEAK, the actual RMS of this speaker is 15 watts!

Still bought it though since that's decent for the price.

This deal is BS How do you get the deal for $23.97, what they don't tell you is you have to open a credit card account with Walmart to get it at that price. Shame!
