Way better than the $200 GoPro Hero 5 deal that was posted.

The Yi 4Ks are nice, and this camera is even better. Just picked up a 4K, will def be picking this up as a second cam

Great action camera. I have one and I'm very happy with it. Even better if you're photo/video editing savvy (for color, sharpening, etc editing). There are tiny glitches, but I believe they're fixing them with firmware.

Someone suggested the GoPro Hero 5 instead. One big advantage the Yi 4k+ has over the Hero 5 is the ability to shoot 4k60fps. As far as I know, the Hero 5 can't. The Yi is not waterproof unless you put it in a waterproof case. This also limits control unless you use the Yi app. The Hero 5 is waterproof without an additional case.

That's def not definitive, but those are some pros/cons I've encountered.

THIS ITEM SHIPS FROM ASIA OR EUROPE, which means it's prob take about a month to get to the states. IMHO, I'd stay away from this. I'm not familiar with the store and don't endorse purchasing the Yi 4k+ from them.

Yes. This is too much camera for just a dash camera though.

Keep in mind not all 4k is the same either. The GoPro even with ProTune maxes at 60Mbit/s, while the YI can do 135Mbit/s, far more detail and information to work with for people who like or can do post.

Yes. Def a good point. I didn't know what the Hero 5 could do. Thanks for adding that. 👍

Yi & Xiaomi are of my favorite brands but they are killing me by not adding GPS & G-sensors to their cameras for overlays.

No problem. I figured most didn't know, as myself I was a bit shocked seeing first hand the change in detail. I then looked up the specs on each and was shocked the YI was so far ahead in bitrate.

To those who don't edit or do any kind of post, the GoPro "looks" better in some cases, as it really jacks up the saturation etc in the camera (not something you want for editing later), while the YI is very flat, which is what you want for post. If you look past that "pop" in color and look at detail and edges, it becomes clear where that extra bitrate comes in. Just remember, you can always adjust color and saturation to your liking after, however you can't add more bitrate.

That just adds to the cost for a gimmick feature that most people will not use.
