Help! monitor power button stuck
January 24, 2009 at

I have a Dell flat screen monitor for my desktop. The "push" power button is now stuck, and so, I cannot turn it on. I tried pushing it at different angles but it is stuck.
Anybody have any experience with this? Please help! TIA.

If not, the only thing to do is get a screwdriver, crack open the case and try to get the button un-stuck.
Would save you from opening the thing up.
oops, ha, yeah, only applies to crt (big heavy) monitors

Try making a thin plastic tool that you can slip between the button and surrounding plastic Soda bottle plastic may be thin enough. Another trick is to press thread or dental floss into the gap around the button and pull it so it tucks under the button and lets you grab it and pull.

I would think the clean up of that would be better...
As to the power strip Idea
I think that would be a good thing to do.
