Glad to see Staples is at least starting to offer discounts on GC's like OD. Hopefully they will start offering them for Visa's too. MC's are way to prone to getting hacked/ drained before you can use them.

No more MC GCs for me. Big hassle about 1.5 years ago to get proper credit for 3 compromised MC GCs.

You realize that giving them money to put on a gift card is essentially giving them an interest-free loan, because you do not gain any interest while they can use it to gain interest, and you think that them not charging you a fee for allowing them to have interest-free money is a good deal?
Let that soak in for awhile.
oh my. you just open a can of worms on this topic. You have no idea what people do with these deals. Educate yourself before making a comment like this next time.

Agreed, that is why rebates worked so well as well. That was basically loaning them money for a bigger discount Smilie and they counted on some people not going through the hassle of claiming those rebates.

Open can:
I might do this deal if it was a VISA card, paying using my Chase Ink card which gives 5% rewards on office store purchases. Then use the card for buying groceries and the like instead of using a CC that only gives 1 to 2% rewards. Net gain 3 to 4%. Others can convert the card to cash for a net 5% or $10 gain on a $200 GC.
Close can.

Instant discount since Staples stop Easy Rebate, limit 1 per customer.
Need to use the card ASAP because they are not as reliable as Visacard Gift card.

As soon as I got these, I put all the balance to prepay Tmobile, internet, cable bills, another option is to buy Walmart / Target gift cards since you most likely will shop there Smilie

Yeap...I got my hacked too...but was able to get all but $6 back because they charge you for a replacement. It was a pain in the neck to get the funds back.
