Picked this up the last time it was at this price (also had a $25 off coupon at the time). Features are nice but the seat feels so cheaply made (very thin plastic), I don't expect it to last longer than a year or so even with light use.

I've been on the fence about buying another but have seen too many reviews confirming my suspicion that the seat cracks before 2 years in most cases.

Not sure if this helps, but I decided a year ago to go the cheaper route. I was also worried about a seat breaking and flushing (lol) money down the toilet. I got this instead and it has been excellent in doing it's job!

Had 2 (Bio Bidet's) in my house, and know around 8 more in friends'. All bought from Costco B&M. Only 1 still works without raiding others for parts. Seal is very weak, and goes bad in about 12-24 months. I suppose I could force a return at local Costco but considering what gets on these shower toilets, I have too much decency to do that. Ended up buying a few Brondell's from Home Depot/Amazon (for around $250) and all have lasted 2+ years. Have friends with Toto and going strong 10+ years. You get what you pay for.

What goes bad? Seat, seal, or cover?

I remember past thread had a Bio Bidet rep posting and answering questions, etc.

I thought it was cheaper like ~$200 during holidays last time?

At this price, it will take a decade to get a return on investment (replacing toilet paper).

The seat supposedly goes bad. Develops cracks near the spacers/feet at the bottom of the seat that separates it from the toilet. If they had just made the plastic slightly thicker it would last a lot longer. Thinking of opening the seat up to put epoxy or something in there to sturdy it up.

Someone else in the comments above mentioned a seal going bad? Can you clarify which seal?

Maybe it was $200 last time but I think I paid 225 plus tax.

I have this exact model....it's ok. I'll say my top annoyance is that often the nozzles are clogged or spray random directions. I find myself constantly having to maintain blockages in the nozzles. Other than that, haven't had any real issues....installed for about a year

I wonder how much of that is due to the weight of the user since from what I know the 6800 is a rebadged UPSA (Korean). My sister designs hospital interiors and when I asked her why US hospitals still almost never have bidets/washlets (pretty much standard in Japanese hospitals and very popular in newer hospitals throughout Asia), her answer was that while her company had looked into it, none of the models were rated to support the weight requirements so it was a no go. Hopefully as they get more popular we'll start seeing some American spec'd bidets.

I own one of these and from experience can tell you it's worth the money to pay up for a Toto.

I have both Toto from Amazon and this one from Costco. This was on sale along with $25 coupon last year while I got Toto one for $800ish. So far, I am indifferent of using two. And as to the value wise, I would pick this over Toto knowing that this is guaranteed by Costco who stand behind what they sell.
