DirectNow TV offers for $10 per month for 4 months when you try to cancel existing subscription-YMMV

I bought DirectTVNow TV streaming back in November 2017 for $140 with Apple TV + 4 months free streaming TV offer. Since the channel line up is not to my taste, I wanted to cancel. (They don't have NGC, History, Science and Discovery) Tried to cancel online, a message popped up, "wait we don't want to lose you, will offer $25 credit for next 4 months". I went ahead with the offer. $35-$25 credit back for 3 months = $10

Try your luck. -YMMV. Post if it works for you!

I actually canceled yesterday, about two hours before I was going to be billed. I didn't get this offer so YMMV. I wouldn't have taken it anyway. The Android DVR beta is still, after months, absolutely horrible. It cuts off the end of recordings, sometimes doesn't record at all, playback is hit or miss. I've used DirectvNow since it came out because SlingTV put out several updates that wouldn't even load. They've solved those problems and their DVR works flawlessly for me so I went back to them. I will miss the $5 HBO, especially since Westworld is about to come back but the DVR situation was a deal breaker.

You must have the cheap package. I get most of those missing channels and still only pay the $35 as I am grandfathered in for the discount. They gave me 1 year of HBO which just ran out. The service still sucks but it is the cheapest way I can get Discovery Channel.

The service is fine for $35 a month for 100+ channels. Its the best deal right now and the DVR works fine for me.

Service is hit or miss for me. Biggest issue is android tv. No app. Casting to tv causes issues. So I'm hoping once the native app is out it'll work better. If I can get this offer I'd take it. $10 isn't much to have it for the few times it's used. I'll try sling next.

Guess it depends on where you are. DTVNow has been outstanding in the Pacific Northwest. No buffering, works on a lot of different devices and being grandfathered in on the $35 100+ channel plan is a big plus.

Are you certain they are giving you $25 per month, or is it $25 total for all 4 months?

Service is excellent for me with the Go Big package. They did having growing pains initially, but that was a year ago and couldn't be smoother now.

As a note, I had Sling before DirecTV now, and the quality of the picture with DirecTV Now is significantly better.

Look at the email from DirectvNow you got, your Go Big grandfathered package will revert to the $60.00 month one

due to your @#@# post , I just tried and got an email saying GoBig after promotion will go to $60/month

If you have the grandfathered plan don't take these steps, thumbs down the thread in that case.

It will revert you to the $60 Go Big plan after the promotion

I've had DTN since inception. In the beginning there were a few bumps but has drastically improved. I"m grandfathered with the $35 and they just keep adding channels. The only local I don't have is NBC, but can use the NBC app with DTN credentials.

One thing I learned early on when having any freezing or buffering issues was to clear the cache and restart the Fire TV. Go to settings, applications, scroll to manage all applications, scroll to Directv Now, scroll to clear cache. I advise doing this for all apps you use on the Fire TV. Go back to main setting menu, go to device, scroll to restart device. I do this once a week and it seems to make a huge difference in the way all of the apps I use to stream content operate.

Ya I'm grandfathered in and don't really use it often unless I'm out and about. But the service has always been good for me. Even the beta is doing good. I have different devices though iPhone, AppleTV,FireTV,Roku. So my options are always there to had a better experience if needed. I'm planning on canceling my DirecTV soon and strictly going with DTVNow.
