such a dumbass statement.

Intel beats it in gaming, yes. If you are a pure gamer that wants the best cpu for pure gaming go with intel.

But if you do more then gaming the Ryzen platform will be the best price to performance out there. Not to mention unlike intel with AM$ you wont have to upgrade your motherboard until atleast 2020.

Intel just came out with the z370 boards and now they are going to release Z470 boards for their next line of processors. meaning everytime you upgrade your cpu you have to upgrade your mobo.

These new ryzens as well as the next line up will all work with boards that were made back in early 2017.

Dont be an idiot fanboy.

It seems to be game by game now. Heavily dependent CPU games still benefit from the extra 400mhz from the 8700k, otherwise a lot of the benchmarks show that the 1080p gap has closed considerably. 1440p gaming was about the same even with the old Ryzens.

Second gen Ryzen is a complete, all around performer, on an upgrade friendly socket, and does extremely well in heavy workloads. The 8700k has nominal benefits over it at best.

Tom's hardware review measured IPC, and it appears that AMD has caught up to Skylake, which is plenty good!

Fry's used to have such good combos before the allegations of colluding within Intel...

MC needs to step up their online shipping game, even if they charge for shipping and sell out fast like Fry's, not enough competition in the game with TD no longer dropping deals.

There are some nice CPU's out there right now, with pretty good discounts (especially via combo at microcenter) but they are totally crushed by the ridiculous prices for GPUs and RAM. 2 year old vid cards are still selling for more than MSRP. It's a crappy time to build a gaming PC if you're on a budget.

well they apparently don't have good deals, so it doesn't do you any good if I forget. :p I almost never see deals even posted for their site on here anymore and a good idea of their prices is that they are selling the 8700k for over $400. lol.

And I just bought 32gb of ram and then realized I really probably don't need over 16.... but I don't know if I will return it or not. But it was around an extra $164 for the extra 16gb that I probably don't need.
