On sale for $14.99 & $12.99 this week. Select store pickup for an additional $1 off.

Add the Blu-ray to cart, in cart select shipping first and proceed to checkout, and as stock permits, it'll give you $1 off at checkout for picking up in store (if it doesn't work try the same method in mobile site, not app)Amazon matched the $14.99 & $12.99 price (shipping is free w/ prime):

Anime almost never has digital, but they usually give a DVD copy!

Same reason why I'm not biting on this deal; no digital. Worse yet, most anime on Vudu are sold as two separate copies: one dubbed, one subtitled. It feels like such a rip-off by them doing that.

A detailed review of the Sailor Moon R movie can be found here [sailormoonnews.com].

There are lots of screenshots and comparisons with other versions. I have no idea why, but there are a lot of image quality issues in most of the releases of Sailor Moon episodes and movies, and it varies by country. I can't remember the details but a few years ago one TV season was re-released, and the Japanese and English blurays were blurry and looked worse than previous DVD releases, but for some reason the Italian version was crystal clear and better than any previous version... it's so inconsistent.

Anyway, the short version is that the US Blu-ray release of this movie is the clearest and sharpest and best looking edition that there's ever been. Buy it. Don't bother to wait for digital, because anime virtually never has digital copies and might never have them in the future.
