Never buy a refurb from Walmart. They just repackage returned broken defective TV's without any kind of check. I bought 4 and 3 did not work and the last one was a D in appearance. Had to return them all.

I have a Walmart visio refurb still going strong 3 years later.

Is there a comparable model that is not refurbished?

I purchased this TV the last time it was on sale. LOVE the picture quality and the packing was just fine with no marks or blemishes. I've never purchased a Refurbished TV so I got the 3 year warranty just in case.

I can verify that refurbished TVs are hardly checked or not checked at all. The last time this was posted I had to return the first one sent as it was smashed to hell (but the shipping box was pristine). Luckily the second one that came was in pretty darn good condition, and I was offered a small credit back. The effort probably wouldn't have been worth it for 3-4 attempts so I consider myself fortunate, but that does not reflect well on Walmart''s refurb service.

I also am enjoying the TV, particularly for the price, but do not have any proper 4k player or other 4k TV to compare to. I've been watching 4k content on Netflix and (sometimes) YouTube and it seems to look quite good, though I have struggled with the picture settings. I find that the picture looks quite strange on my regular xbox one, and also when watching 4k planet earth 2 on Netflix, particularly in shots of tree canopies or large sections of rock. It's hard to describe, but it's like the TV has difficulty displaying texture of moderately uniform sections of the frame. Could be due to my content streaming rather than playing off a disc, but any suggestions or calibration settings would be appreciated.
