Was walking through my Costco today when I saw they had the Roku Ultra for $10 off, so $79.99 after discount. Didn't see any other threads about this

It does seem like a decent price.

We have the Premiere I believe.
I have to admit, I don't like it a whole lot.

The user interface has quite a bit of room for improvement.
It feels restricted. Doesn't have all the apps, e.g. missing Ted Talks and YouTube. --> Need to add, thanks RedX11 Tvhappy
Looks like you get a RF remote and HDR support with the Ultra, decent review here;

If you don't have new HDMI cables, or even if you do, you may also get a frustrating HDCP warning:

We got ours included with an AT&T deal with DirecTV Now (which we ended up cancelling after a while).
I am interested in trying an Amazon Fire for Alexa integration, though the new Xbox may suffice as well.

Spend another $70 and get an Nvidia shield. VASTLY superior experience to ANY Roku (and we've had all the ones at the top end of that line). Roku lost us with the forced updates that were broken that you couldn't roll back last year. 4K HDR was a disaster on Roku for much of 2017 until we tapped out.

The Shield has been fantastic.

Missing all the apps? You just download YouTube and Ted Talks like it has been with any Roku device.

Wow!

I really should have googled that.
Not sure why I thought it was limited.

Glad I brought it up - and thank you for the quick response!

That got me thinking, maybe there's a way to enable some sort of voice activated commands too, being the other feature we're missing.
-So I thought maybe I should look that up too.
Low and behold, there is certain functionality;

Too bad I don't have one of those remotes, but I'll have to look into the mobile apps.

Thanks!

I bought a Roku Ultra through Amazon Refurbished Certified sales yesterday. And it was like $75ish and I'm definitely going to return it because I can get all the apps it has with the Fire Stick (which I already have one). It's a lot cheaper and it has everything you need. It doesn't have the YouTube app but it makes you click the app and the app sends you to either Firefox or another internet page and then gives you the YouTube page. But for $40 - $30 (when on sale) is more worth then the $80 for roku and all your getting really is the private listening.

They do. I saw in one of Chicago's store on last Saturday.

There's a reason the Ultra is the most expensive. It has the hardware to go along with it. Go get the Roku Stick+ or something else. The Ultra has an ethernet port, and support for HDR, etc. It's faster as well. You're comparing a Fiat to a BMW.

Confirmed they have it at Costco in Colorado as well - it's a new item and comes with 2 months CBS all access, $10 off a 4k movie purchase from Fandango now, and also a high speed HDMI cable. Looks like it doesn't have the cheap remote headphones though.

No complaints with my Roku Ultra. However, a weird aside is that you can't use Roku devices to stream FXX from either the Sling TV app nor the FXX Now app using sling credentials. I can't speak for other streaming devices, but I have heard that you can use Sling TV credentials with the FXX Now app when using a FireStick.
