Models numbers. But visually, the gen 2 impact is more stubby and compact.

Great price! Because it has the 4.0 battery you can expand the line. I purchased the circular saw and light (bare) to expand my 12v line.

This is probably going to be hugely YMMV, and it is the 'old' gen 2 but still a good deal if you can find it for this price. Best price in the past was like $200 with a bundled tool (I got mine with the m12 ratchet, also purchased the M12 Fuel circular saw and M12 Fuel hackzall - all are awesome).

It may be 12v, but the M12 fuel drill/impact are pretty impressive little powerhouses despite that.

Great set. Put up 1/2in Hardiebacker with the impact driver. Lightweight, small, agile, plenty of power and runs long on even the small batteries.

Great deal! If i didn't already have it, and the Gen 2 kit. I would be in for it... For most people these will replace your 18v tools. As a mechanic i use the impact daily and it holds up to everything i throw at it. Drill is plenty powerful too

12v is very weak. Ryobi deal is way better.
Pretty ignorant thing to say considering these M12 fuel units will give the 18v Ryobi a run for their money if not outright beat them.

More voltage != better tool
