The white label drives have TLER, they are exactly the same as the red but with the reset pin. There is no "voltage issue" its just that one of the 3.3v pins cannot be connected to power or it will reset. Lots of backplanes work fine with them and dont supply power to the pin. If you use a molex to sata power adapter it wont reset it since there is no 3.3 voltage.

If you do happen to have a backplane that supplies 3.3, the work around is to use tape or nail polish etc to cover up the reset pin. In most cases you won't have to do this.

I have 12 of these some in a raid6 with some being older reds and most being white label - they are all the same.

You have to get the ones that say Thailand on it and this sku is the reds I bought 2 and both of them have reds

MGBJRCK and Thailand under box near barcode should be reds.

These still have the WD White labels? I really wish they had the Reds so I can have TLER and shuck them.

edit: NVM the link above me answered my questions

edit 2: looking at recent Amazon and BB reviews some people are still getting Reds. So I'll take the gamble and check back to let everyone know what I got.

edit 3: Picked them up today. According to crystaldiskinfo they are EMAZ models. (White) but the smart guys at r/datahaorder confirmed they are basically relabeled reds and these do have TLER.

The Easystore have the Reds, according to everything I've read. Wish BB didn't charge sales tax.
Thank you!

See this post for the massive list. I went about a week ago and could only find Whites out of the four drives they had on the shelf.

These are the ones that also have voltage issues if they're used as internal in a pc?

My 5tb 7200rpm Toshiba has been getting loud making crunching noises, and it's only 2-3 years old. I want a replacement or two, but I'm hoping it'll hold out until 10tb drives are $150-160.

Yes, but there appear to be workarounds.
