Local Walmart has these for $4.99 for a 4 pack, pretty great deal. They also had 40W Equivalent for the same price. As low as $2 per pack. (73401)

Discombobulated used the wrong sku reference in his post but different GE Bulbs are reported being on "clearance"

Dimmable bulb version is not as widespread of a sale as the non-dimmable at the time.

I recommend you do research on whatever cheap LED bulbs you intend to buy and put in your home. I bought a bunch of GE bulbs on sale from Target a few years back and the failure rate was high (they started flashing). Some research showed that a few lines of LEDs including the specific ones I bought suffered from similar issues and in some cases would fail catastrophically. I pulled all those bulbs, did some research, and went with some specific Feit bulbs. These specific GE bulbs may be fine, but I would recommend you do research yourself before outfitting your whole house with any LED just because it is on sale.

Most any time I've seen deals, like this on bulbs, they are cleaned out. There were 3 empty spots the other day, with signs of bulbs marked down. One time, they had them on an aisle display, & had a sign that stated a limit of 4 or 5, I believe.

How is this compared to other LED deals of the past?

I think the quality of the deal depends on where you are. I see one place over 25 miles has these for $2.50 but who knows if it's actually there. I'd say that's a pretty good deal but obviously not worth driving for.

I can get these Great Value Walmart brand bulbs for about 1 buck each with the local power company subsidy, but these are GE. The Great Value 9W LEDs work fine, though.

Down to $2 at couple local stores. I'll swing by and pick some up. Hard to beat for 50¢ each.

That was LEDs a few years ago. They've gotten the kinks worked out now. Heat is down to nothing. They basically all work with dimmer and odd ball switches.

Edit: Box says these aren't dimmable so YMMV if you need ones that can dim. Explains why they're so cheap. I've had non-dimmable ones dim better than dimmable ones tho.

I bought the same GE LED bulbs from Target a couple years back. I contacted GE and they sent me $5 off coupons for new bulbs.

these were .75 cents in Hartford, CT. I grabbed 4 boxes and then a lady fill a cart with them. Around 20-30. Crazy

Make sure you check other options, here AEP subsidizes the dimmable version and they've been anywhere from 2.97 to currently 4.97 or something like that.

The Great Value LED bulbs are made by TCP in my area. Not sure if it's because it's an Ohio company (I'm in Ohio) or not.
