Great price, everything I have purchased that was branded PowerA has been good quality so far.
Nintendo licensed.

In my opinion, it looks better than the original grey variety too.
Normally $20, now $12.88 with Prime.

(Note: not the chargeable grip)

This red, non Mario edition is also on sale for $9.88.

The grip doesn't sync with the system, the remotes do, so this isn't something this problem will have.

Power A has been a good brand in my experience so if you just want the Mario design this is fine but I can't call the plain version a good deal. The four $3 Chinese grips I bought feel comfortable & easy to grip and have held up great

This is a plastic grip with zero electronic hardware in it.

If it's actually a good deal, you want to jump on it before it hits FP. Not all great deals make FP some sell out or expire before then. This is only a good deal if you want the Mario graphics, otherwise they can be had for less.

And just how do I know it's a good deal, though? Under $5 sure, but $10 and over I honestly am ignorant if it's good or bad here.

I really don't know it all, LOL.

Now it is FP... Sorry wallet... but I LOVE Super Mario and guess it is hot!!!

Nintendo rarely makes accessories anymore besides the standard set, especially for the switch. Just about all of them are "Official Nintendo Licensed Product" items.

I have used the grip that came with my Switch exactly zero times. I don't really get the point of these.

these grips suck. 1) you can charge the controllers through them..... dumb. 2) more importantly, they just arent comfortable. i know its over 4x more expensive. but get the pro controller. or if you want something in the middle. get the 8bitdo sf30 pro controller; open box can he had for under $40 and is more comfortable then the grip. and if its for a child, it will be better as well since its smaller.
