Uh... Most anyone would be able to see a night and day difference between 60hz and 144hz in an fps game.

Yes and no. It's definitely overkill for casual gamers, but people that play competitive FPS at a high tier can definitely benefit from it.

Pretty sweet deal with that gift card.
The bottom link says "Event has ended" by the way OP.
Top one works. (This one https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/a...3812556925)

If only the Gsync version was this price. I've seen this version at Dell for $350 w/ $100 gc in the past

Has anyone even tried to add the g sync version to their cart? Every time I do it puts the free sync version in there.

I have this monitor and it's awesome!I think I ended up paying $269 after $50 rebate and $30 credit due to shipping issues.
So definitely a great deal if that $100 Dell GC is of interest to you.

The Menu buttons & flow isn't without minor gripes, but typically not changing settings often enough to be a big deal.

Mine did not come with a DisplayPort cable, which is needed to take advantage of FreeSync.

I got this one a newegg sale, same price but no gift card. The 400 nits is bright enough. No bad backlight bleed, just very slight on the edges.

240Hz? Isn't that excessive to the point of being ridiculous and an obvious marketing ploy? Seems like 144 is plenty.

Nope, it's much smoother than 144, but also, you need a high refresh rate to take advantage of FreeSync anyways (ie. if your GPU can do 180Hz, then that's when FreeSync kicks in).

With the Gsync version of this, the extra headroom on refresh rates means you can turn on ULMB (ultra low motion blur) at 144Hz (vs 75Hz on a 144Hz monitor, etc).

Although, if you aren't playing a competitive FPS, then this is of no use to you. (ie. don't waste your money if all you do is play Civ or the Sims)
