Hmm I was curious too, new reviews on Amazon seem to suggest the radios lockup after a while... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B...f=mw_dp_cr

I have some of these in a large house with ddwrt and they are finnicky to say the least. Best thing I ever did was go ubiquiti and never looked back

if a router isn't on one of these lists, it's probably not worth getting (imo):

Serious problems with wireless disconnects.
I have the WRT1900ACS v1 and it's not bad.

Check craigslist for Netgear r7800 or Asus 3100 or rt-ac86u. Can be found for 100 bucks. Much better than linksys

Dunno what these guys are yapping about but mine has been solid with dd-wrt handling over 40+ wifi and 10+ wired devices. I have WRT1900AC v2.

I have the wrt1900 and it is not even worth the $40 I paid for it as opposed to the ASUS RT68U for the same price. Tried dd-wrt and stock.

I went for the brand name, error in hindsight

They are saying that this model sucks. I had a brand new Linksys EA8500 (AC2600) that was hot garbage. Replaced it with a refurbished Linksys WRT 1900AC which works perfectly.

After belkin bought the Linksys brand name from Cisco, the brand has become much less reliable. Some models are really good, some are terrible.
