The original was already perfect, why would they rewrite it?

If you're an adult feeling nostalgic and thinking about picking this up, do yourself a favor and don't. They changed almost everything and in the process took out the soul of the show. It feels like an advertisement for the game. I couldn't finish half of it and I tried. If you're getting it for your kid then maybe. As far as kids' movies go, it's not that bad.

If you don't mind getting angry at how stupid parts are, with some nostalgia hitting you, then watch it. Otherwise, not worth it. I could have gone without seeing it and wouldn't miss it, but curiosity got the best of me so I watched it. There's one particular scene towards the end that can make you extremely angry, so watch out.

Wow, I can totally relate to you. I was curious to see what episode 7 and 8 of Star Wars were like. After watching them, I HATED them so much that I still can't appreciate the new generation of SW.

I ask myself this all the time...Ghostbusters, Superman, The Karate Kid, and Ninja Turtles just to name a few.

AFAIK this is actually the start of a separate continuity. I haven't seen it yet but it's supposed to start bridging off into future movies.

Let it die. This reimagined remake was horrible to watch. Not even comparing it to the original, it was loosely put together it seems and parts of the movie didn't match with the Pokemon universe. It was ok for a "bad movie night" but doesn't have enough substance to stand otherwise.

The answer is it's all about the money! People are running out of ideas for new movies, so the big studios decide to remake stuff to capitalize on old success. Also in some movies cases they are done to take advantage of cultural trends or current popular things such as the #metoo where movies like ghostbusters but all females is made. Many movies in today's world have some sort of agenda often political and the message goes past most of the population black panther being one of many of those movies.

I totally agreed! Like Beauty and the Beast released 2017 for example, has a social/political agenda
