Price of RAM still stuck on insane levels. It was supposed to go down in early 2018 but it hasn't happened yet.

Realistically, I doubt that. SO-DIMM rams are rarely used now, if you consider many laptops are either still using LPDDR3 for the energy efficiency, or with soldered rams with no way to upgrade. With limited demand the supply will be low and the price will remain high for a while longer.

In general desktop ddr4 are in high demand because of Data center and servers using them. With a handful of RAM manufactures I don't see prices going down any time soon.
