Honda lawn mower HRR216VLA $479 HRR216VYA $489 plus extra free blade plus 1 extra yr warranty (by 5/31)

These are usually $10 to $20 more, without the extra blade, and without the extra year of warranty. I priced matched without the free blade at Home Depot b/c of an easier return / refund should I find something wrong.

HRR216VKA out of stock

HRR216VLA $479 (electric start) https://www.maxtool.com/honda-21-...auto-choke

HRR216VYA $489 (blade brake clutch / roto-stop / blade stop) https://www.maxtool.com/honda-21-...auto-choke

HRR2110VKA should be the same as HRR216VKA -- the 10 is just the most recent 2018 update version (k10).

Honda mowers are expensive for a reason, unlike the other crap brands, they last forever. I remember Honda mowers used to cost $1000+ back in the days. My 20-yr-old Honda mower still works like new, after thousands of cuts.

I can buy a riding lawn mower with a 30 inch deck for $600. A 21 inch deck for that price = not smart. I personally have a 21 inch deck that I bought from Lowe's @ $149 and it has lasted me over 5 years. Just saying...

I've been looking at mowers for a while and a $600 riding mower has to be a very low-quality mower. There are all kinds of sub-$200 crap mowers. Some people like buying nice things, that last.

Any decent mower can last 20 years if you take care of it.

Honda mowers carry a premium for a reason. Just as the Toro mowers are more expensive than your run of the mill mowers. Of course if you are fine with a $200 mower then that's great. But it also begs the question of why you are looking at the thread on $500 mowers except to come in and say they are overpriced?

Honda mowers are great, but they have their fare share of problems as well (hydrostatic transmission, hard starting, etc). Just do some googling. No need to reply that yours is trouble free.

I like Honda cars (I own a Civic and talked my parents into an Accord), but Honda mower (Honda Power Equipment) pre-sales customer service gets an easy F rating (rude, unhelpful, couldn't care less). And post-sales service shouldn't be an better. Toro on the other hand is at the opposite end, an A.

I'd love to own a Honda mower too, but Toro quality is nearly as good IMO (in some areas, better), and cheaper, and if Toro customer service is better, it's hard to not buy a Toro.

Yup, the mowers aren't perfect. And if you have had poor customer service experience(s) then that is definitely a factor that would turn me off too.

Toro's are great. Just not a fan of the briggs engines. My most recent briggs engine experience was on a snow blower where it just leaked gas straight from the get go. So it got returned.

You can get a Toro with a Honda engine.
