Can anyone give an opinion on this compared to the 1060 SC 6gb? Hesitating on pulling the trigger.

From the research I've done (not that much) they are very close and rx 580 wins in dx12 titles which is a bit more future proof. 1060 wins in certain titles so for me it was really down to cost since I'm building it for a relative.

performance is generally negligible with the 6gb version

some games that favor amd 580 comes out on top (generally dx 12/vulcan games)
some games that favor nvidia (there are more of those) 1060 is out on top

if you need an upgrade snag this... if you don't can wait but won't be any new gpus probably until march april next year

generally from what I remember the fury should be close to on par with 580 but the fury takes way more power, while the fury x is closer to the performance of 1070's ... the fury is sold out so not sure why asking

The wait is over.

Ironically I still feel slightly ripped off.

Thank you. I have the R9 fury I linked and I'm wondering if I should cancel my order for the 580.

oh and for anyone that is wondering

prices should normalize unless there is another random spike in demands due to mining

the issue with the past few months is that almost all cards/or all cards were bought out after holiday season thus leaving very little inventory left

retailers/suppliers do not normally restock right away after holidays due to weak sales for specific hardware during the spring (game consoles look to be staying in stock though due to the fact of easier hardware due to mainly pc hardware inside as well as multiple triple A titles launching in the jan-march months now to avoid holiday congestion) and that includes graphics cards/processors due to the yearly refreshes

stock normally gets replenished in the march-april window - will they stay at the current prices ? don't know due to ram pricing and how it hits the manufacturers

Is MSI going exclusive to Nvidia GPUs? I don't remember where I read that at.
