I have last pass for over 3 year no problem.. From what I heard they both great so you can't go wrong with either one.

Is this the safest and best password service available? Are there free ones?

I have had bad experiences with StackSocial and would not recommend buying from them. They are low quality.

For those who want a shorter period for free, this promo gives 6 months free premium for new users, rather than the standard 30 days.

That's what I plan on moving to after my LastPass subscription expires. Personally wasn't a fan of them doubling the price, but something I expected when they were bought by logmein.

I've been using RoboForm for years; anyone have experience with how the others compare?

From previous deal thread...includes links to some password manager reviews.

If you don't need it now, sign up for an account with Dashlane and let them send you promotions to your email. After some time (for me it was around a month), you'll get a deal to buy the 5 year for around $65.

If you don't mind cloud storage for instant syncing, LastPass. If you're paranoid, Dashlane for local storage and use Dropbox for syncing. Some people even think Dropbox is safer than cloud. I find that hilarious.

You're not going to find a consensus for the best pw manager. Everyone uses a different password manager and think what they use is the greatest. The last deal thread listed 6 different managers just in the first page alone.

I second the questions asking if there's any reason to pick this over LastPass which gives you most premium options for free.
