Look for rebate offering 8% at Dell consumer and works on these.

I don't game. got same unit, but GTX 1060/6gb for 1225 - 98 rebate = 1127.

I figure that I might do 150-175 better on an outlet deal, but using my Costco Visa I get 2 extra years of warranty on new. Plus, it's new!

Good deal, and is more compact than Alienware due to them having same cage but without the top hump and the stands (adding 5 inches at the top and 2 inches at the bottom).
but the bad news is that no liquid cooling and this case is really desgined for liquid cooling. The cooler is very small, limited ---> loud and hot. But if you get extra 2 years warranty i guess that would be fine Smilie. Plus if you don't do constant heavy task like rendering video for hours, that should not be a problem.

Now if there is enough clearance and long enough tube length, may be one could try to install a AIO cooler to the front fan position ( but the GPU length may take up all the space for the tubbing, I dont have the unit so I dont know). Deals for AIO around here is as cheap as $30 bucks. I would get a $40 AIO and install to the front fan position, I wonder if we can plug the pump header to the CPU fan header.

I would get the 1070Ti for only $50 extra and close performance to 1080. But with Air cooling GPU expect the temp to be above 80 C underloads (which should not kill your stuff within 5 years because that's the temp my laptop run at when its underload and its' been fine for long) Dont' let the video memory reach 90 C thou that would be the first thing to go. But luckily in 3 years you can replace the video cards for faster and cheaper. WIthin 2 years just call Dell up they will send you a replacement if need be (when you have green screen issue related with video memory)

No problem. Throw an OC on it and it'll out perform a stock 1080, and even match an OC 1080
