I had a similar pair when I was in high school about 16 years ago. The nubs were a translucent material, which I believe made them more pliable, and thus more comfortable.

Fast-forward to a couple of weeks ago. I got these sandals listed here, and they were so incredibly painful, I had to return them. No amount of break-in would help them. I believe they're intended for soccer players to wear with socks after they removed their cleats.

If you want to wear these without socks, may God have mercy on your soles.

Had the same ones. Those bumps after a while hurt your feet. Will never buy any sandal made like this again.

Nice deal. I think the nubs don't really do anything in terms of "massaging" your feet, but for $15 why not?

My current pair, used indoors, is 2.5 years old. The nubs have begun to fall off in higher pressure areas, but for $15, they're still worth it.
