I've had one of these doors for almost 10 years. No one and no animal has entered through it except for my dog. With that being said, there have been circumstances of houses being robbed by burglars entering through a doggy door, so you can't count it out that it could happen but it is very unlikely. If your backyard is wide open to the outside world where other animals can come and go, then you might want to keep that in mind. My backyard is closed off with a block wall so unless someone climbs over it or an animal is able to jump over a 6' wall, they're not getting in through the doggy door.

Wow, talk about a confusing post. What the heck are you trying to say? What two panels? Confused Of course air is going to come through if the door is open a few inches or even less.

Just a FYI...
Amazon sells the pet doors for (up to) 96" tall doors also... A (M) sized door (up to 40lb dog) in 96" height is $160 +tax...

I think having my door open even a few inches allows air to enter where the two panels usually create a seal.

Hmm, I'm thinking the Small size would be small enough to deter even the lankiest of thieves to be able to use a doggy door to enter a house during an attempted break-in. 🤔 My pup is a lanky 9lbs, so this might be perfect for him.

I just bought one of these used in my area for $80 and wish I saw these. At pet stores they go for much more (my local sold a tall one for $200!)

I can't comment on this brand, but something to look out for is the ability to lock your door into it. Many of these doors still all the slider to "click" into it and lock the door. It's not a preventive measure in terms of safety, but it creates a much closer seal for AC purposes. My door has this feature, but my lock is much higher than normal (being a very large door) and it doesn't align.

Sorry for long post, but food for thought. I wish I tested mine first and now have to fabricate it with weather stripping and apply pressure in another capacity.

Bought one of these last year, been installed since, Works great, got a piece of 2" insulation board cut to size, and painted wall color to limit heat loss in the winter
