By the way, if you are looking to buy an electric chainsaw - I read somewhere that chainsaw chaps DO NOT SHUT DOWN the engine of electric chainsaws. They may help buy you enough time to get your finger off the trigger, but they won't shut down the engine - whereas they do with gas chainsaws. Has to do with the pulses/eletricity/engine torque. The electric has a more consistent power source and doesn't get stalled/shut down when it hits the kevlar - whereas a gas powered engine will stall out when it gets hung up.

I'm not saying to avoid the chainsaw, and I'm not saying to skip wearing chaps (still WAY better to wear than denim) - just encouraging you to be aware/careful when operating.

Sure, let's compare a $1000+ 7.4kg 20" gas saw to a $129 4kg 12" battery saw. Because that's relevant.

homeowner/diy guy here. I have this thing and i quite like it, it can cut 6-8 inch branches just fine. I've actually used it to cut a 16" tree trunk to smaller sizes rounds (cut from one side, then rolled to cut the other), sure it takes longer to cut than a bigger gas chainsaw, but for the convenience, and already being invested in the dewalt 20v line. it was great! I love the toolless bar clamp/adjust thing, and the weight is just swell!

Obviously its not for people that make a living cutting trees or plan to use it every day. but Ease of use, size, no gas smell, low weight, and convenience are the biggest selling points for sure!

Whoa nice. I have the 40v version and I love it. Almost tempted to dual wield!

This is good for the homeowner who isn't in the business of cutting down trees, just cleaning up if/when one does fall down once in a blue moon (and is already invested in the 20v dewalt line).

They do have this for the flexvolt in a 16" bar while this is only a 12". Also if you take notice to the pics the guy is using this chainsaw on a job site and not cutting up trees. So beware wat you are buying

I have the same feeling. On the market for a chainsaw. Prefer a EGO 16", just have not seen any deal recently. I could settle for a DeWALT FLEXVOLT, but hard to pull the trigger on a 20V version.

This is a joke, right? I have a Stihl MS462 and it will eat this thing's lunch.
Is the Stihl MS462 $129?

Stihl also has battery powered chainsaws.
