Thought this was a good deal for a desktop for a non-power user given the SSD + HDD and that it has 8GB of RAM. $90 off retail at the moment.

Does the OS run off the SSD? Is this good for Plex? At most I would stream 2 1080 files. I also convert my antenna recordings using MCEBuddy and ComSkip. If this was i5 I would be all over it.

From bb " The hard drive provides ample storage, while the SSD delivers faster start-up times and data access. "
I doubt if anyone makes such a setup and boots from the HDD as opposed to the SSD out of the box.

Sounds like a plan, but kiss your warranty goodbye.

Ok, then keep it in a drawer if $#^/ hits the fan? Or buy one again for $5 less if it does go wrong? This is why I just build systems haha eliminates this debate

Looking for a cheap desktop to use at work; one thing I'm looking for is two monitor outputs; can you do that with this? Or is it just one output?

Thanks

I bought this the day it went on sale - as my main unit melted down that day after 2 years (an HP Elitedesk) . My other unit was also an SSD (with an AMD) - but this is much, much faster - so much faster that even though the Elitedesk is now repaired I will probably have to keep this Pavilion rather than take it back to Bestbuy.

Reboots to login screen in 17 seconds from shutdown command. And I am running 2 monitors just fine. Not for any sort of power user - but I do office stuff and research and basic HD video editing and it is quite fast - I dont play games. A solid deal at $400 for the right user.
