The bungee cord design stretches to help absorb shocks, and the wide, padded area spreads gear weight over a larger area for improved comfort. For versatility, the strap attaches to camera lugs with flat cord connectors or to other areas with snap-hooks (holds up to 5lbs).

Bought it from the last SD deal and it worked great. Padding was a little thick so I slung it over my shoulders instead of around the neck. Used it during my Italy/Paris trip and felt safe walking around the sites with the camera out and not in the my bag since the straps are way thicker than the factory neck strap.

i don't think these are meant for necks, typically shoulders or cross-body due to its thickness/sturdiness. necks wouldn't feel comfortable.

It'll be an ideal strap when you graduate to a proper dslr.

I prefer Peak design slide camera straps. Easy/Fast to adjust the straps to secure snug or loose

LOVE the peak systems... the Capture Pro in particular. I rarely use a strap anymore.
