My son has these speakers in the non AIR version running off the Lepai amp from Parts Express. Decent sound and quite loud

I used them as the rear speakers in my 5.1 system until my son stole them. He uses them for electronic music. They have decent punch for their size, which is to say if you want them to thump, you need a sub. Remember, these aren't powered so you will need an amp.

Definitely won't replace your headphones, but these are on par with the Monoprice 6.5 bookshelf speakers which are excellent for the money.

I used the non-air version of these with a lepai ta2020a+ amp for a couple years. Like the guy before me said, won't replace headphones for hearing footsteps in shooters but otherwise sounds great in games/music. Blew away the Logitech 2.1 i had prior, with super weak satellites and a muddy subwoofer. I just replaced the daytons with pioneer bookshelves but I'll never go back to computer speakers.

This is the regular price on Amazon from day one.

These should be fine for gaming or music, but add a subwoofer to the mix.

I used to run them off a Lepai 2020a, but now they run off a Yamaha rx-v661 in my son's bedroom.

They sounded decent off the Lepai.

Im running them off the lepai class t amp 2020a+. I upgraded the power supply and the main capacitor. It was (I think) a 16v 2200uf and I upgraded it to 16v 5600uf panasonic capacitor which helped it from getting anemic when you cranked up the volume.
