Outlets are 2-Prong. I might try it in my car's 120v outlet to keep an Echo Dot/spare phone running when car is parked.

Want to get a UPS for a network closet I am building. Only thing that I will be powering is a modem, a 8 port switch, and a AC router. Seems like I would be better off getting at least like a 250w UPS. Would this be enough?

I used to use this one for the same setup you have, it didnt run out of juice after 45mins but I would still buy the 255w one because it is very cheap ATM ($34.99 on slickdeals aswell). So you get 3x the power (and 3 prone outlets) for $16 more

That's not the worst. The worst is input is 2-prong too which makes it basically not surge protected. Your better choice here would be a simple battery pack, not this half-wit UPS.

This is two prong. Insane. What was APC thinking?

That it should only be used for electronics with two prong plugs.

Rep for BRKH for pointing out the 2 prong. I missed that completely and ordered. Newegg cancelled with no issues.

There's a deal right now where for only $16 more you can get a bigger capacity, 3-pronged version of this. https://slickdeals.net/f/11550527-apc-back-ups-bn450m-battery-backup-6-outlet-450va-255w-office-depot-34-99-free-store-pickup?v=1

I used to have this 2-prong version with an attached netgear switch, and the switch died after a lightning strike. Sure, a lot of things can die after a lightning strike, but I'd rather it at least have grounding to reduce the chances of it happening. It's now replaced with the 3-pronged version, and my only complaint is the high pitched hum it makes.
