$200 prepaid card for new Xfinity Mobile for New Line Activation for iPhone and Samsung Galaxy

+37 Deal Score

Xfinity Mobile Customers (Xfinity internet account is required) new line activation:

Select iPhones: $200 prepaid card
Select Samsung Galaxy Phones: $200 prepaid card
Account should be active for 90 days to receive the prepaid card.

Xfinity Mobile plans:
$12 per month for 1GB data
(I hear if the data usage is less than 300MB per month, there is no charge except fee and taxes - to be confirmed)
$ 45 per month for unlimited data

Offer terms doesn't indicate a requirement for the unlimited mobile plan ($45/month); it appears this can work for the $12/month plan as well. May work out for existing Xfinity customers and wants to switch to the Verizon network (Xfinity is an MVNO and uses Verizon network).

$200 for the unlimited plan still exists until 5/23 (there is another thread for this in SD).

I pulled the trigger on this for my first smartphone with lots of reservations.

Does anyone know of a good Xfinity Mobile thread? (I find the google searchable blogs/reviews, hard to tell who is selling me something).

Things to be thinking about- (1) are there different host (i.e. Verizon towers) contracts for service in different geographical areas of country...for example, the satisfaction with how your phone works in NY different than Georgia or Utah making work/vacation travel painful and explaining some reviews of great/horrible, (2) prioritization of service in emergency, (3) increase in price over next 2 years bc artificially lower to boost customer base (affects cost savings for those porting in from grandfathered plans and hassle for anyone to switch) (4) wifi calling, tethering, hotspots and the like making your phone calls/stored data more accessible by others than previous companies bc using customer modems to supply the hotspot (5) On 4, does anyone know if they can do that if the modem is owned by the customer (whole practice seems questionable) (5) third party and information selling policy...

Thoughts or referral to better place to get this information. I did read through Xfinity site, thank you.

I just use xfinity as back up around $1 a month if you turn the data off on your phone. I would say I really like it so far, I got free WiFi almost everywhere I go. I use cricket as my main.

Thanks for the feedback on the above questions.

To answer the "select phones" question-above. For iPhone 8 the $200 visa card showed up in the cart with the explanation that would receive an email in a couple days regarding it. I was unsure whether I was "missing" a 200 visa card because also did the unlimited promotion. I called and was told that the unlimited internet $200 card does not come until after the service has 2 billing cycles-has that been anyone else's experience? From reading through some threads it sounds as though one has to stay on top of this to make sure that prepaid card received.

So far, I have had 2 separate phone customer service representatives confirm that the promotions are stackable. (that was a concern of mine)

Does anyone know about unlocking the phones? Is there an advantage to putting a verizon sim card in first so the phone starts off unlocked? Some threads say xfiniity will unlock at 2 months. I don't want to be "stuck" with a locked iPhone if service does not work out. Thank you for your help.

You can request unlock after 1 month. I did same.

Same but paying more @ $3.39 but still worth it for unlimited talk/text.

Iphone 8 silver 256 mb showed the 200 gift card in the cart when purchased. Still waiting on card email confirmation but phone not due for a couple of days. Customer Service by phone is very quick, chat has not been as helpful with the types of questions I was asking.

Pixel 2 XL/Moto G4 wont work with Xfinity mobile. Only iPhone 5 and above can be used as BYOD. Check here [xfinity.com] for BYOD compatibility.

For $200 GC you have to wait for 2-3 billing cycles. That is what happened for mine.

I've been on the service for about a month.

I've been on the service for about a month and so far things have been going well.

I'd check HowardForums for some of those detailed questions.

I think I'm getting priority on Xfinity hotspots. Previously I was on Cricket and the hotspots were worthless. Now they range from passable to good. But I can't say if that's because I'm now an Xfinity mobile customer, or because they had some kind of system upgrade around the same time.

Iphone users who think you are going to stay under 100mb of data, beware, that is almost impossible. I carry a hotspot with me and just the moments I'm without it...like walking from the office to where my car is parked... I might incur 1mb of data transfer, even with most apps set to wifi only, and I've turned off mobile data fallback.

But overall my only regret is pulling the trigger too soon and missing out on the $200 thing. Although, I would have had to buy a more expensive phone than I did (iphone 7 red), so I guess it mostly worked out.
