NETGEAR Nighthawk X6S AC3000 MU-MIMO Smart Wi-Fi Router - $169.99

NETGEAR Nighthawk X6S AC3000 MU-MIMO Smart Wi-Fi Router (Item # 1162647): $199.99 - $30.00 OFF = $169.99. Free shipping is available. Store availability will vary. Non-members will need to pay a surcharge.

Deal is good May 1st to 28th, 2018. While supplies last.

This is the Costco Netgear Nighthawk X6S:

More features than the standard X6 (however, if you want to save $20 the X6 is currently available for $150 through this deal from TopDownRide):
  • Wifi Speed up to 3.0Gbps
  • 6 High Performance Antennas
  • MU-MIMO support simultaneous streaming
  • Dynamic QoS bandwidth prioritization
  • 1.8Ghz Dual Core processor with 3 offload processors

This was a popular deal back during the Christmas season. The price dropped to $149 for BF. As far as I can tell, the price hasn't been below $199 since BF.

Finally, remember with Costco you have a great return policy. I specifically asked about the lifetime satisfaction policy in regards to routers. I was told that I could return this at ANY time. Big advantage to buying from other retailers.

Same price on Amazon.

You had linked to a different model on Amazon. The Costco model is R7900P, not R8000P.

I had this router for about 1 week. It needed to be reset every other day in order for Wi-Fi to work. Buyer beware

Total piece of crap. We're returning ours today. The 5Ghz is a drop-fest, whether you use the smart mode or 2 separate 5Ghz channels. 2.4Ghz is a little better but drops wifi WAY more frequently than our 5 year old router. Was looking forward to this, but the complaints about the radios in these are right. TERRIBLE and a huge waste of time. Yeah, you can return it to Costco anytime in the first 90 days, but what about all the time you waste trying to make it work right? And then when the radios fail 6 months down the road (as many of the reviews state) you're totally screwed. Caveat Emptor.

Working fine for me a month in running in AP mode not as a router. AP and Arris router going into a managed switch. Bought at $199.99 at Costco and saw on Amazon for $149.99 with $20 extra off with coupon at checkout yesterday. Submitted to citipricerewind, it shouldn't be a problem getting a check for $50 for the difference.

Give it 6-12 months. Lots of reviews saying they start dying in this range if they work out of the box.

We were using it in AP mode, too - into a cisco router.

The router on sale on Amazon is the X6 not the X6S.

Well sounds like I might need to return to Costco if that happens I'll keep an eye out for it.

Yep you right funny part is you search for that model and it shows up. I think it will still be approved by citipricerewind, I'll find out. The model is ALMOST the same R7900 and AC3000 I don't think they'll notice. Ha

Costco return policy for this is ANY TIME. If it craps out in 6 months you'll get your $170 back. Of course, you won't get your time back.

Electronics: Costco will accept returns within 90 days (from the date the member received the merchandise) for Televisions, Tuner-Free Displays, Projectors, Major Appliances (refrigerators above 10 cu. ft., freezers, ranges, cooktops, over-the-range microwaves, dishwashers, washers and dryers), Computers, Touchscreen Tablets, Smart Watches, Cameras, Aerial Cameras (drones), Camcorders, MP3 players and Cellular Phones (return details will vary by carrier service contract).
My general thought is that ALL routers have issues. Especially on the high end, typical router reviews sit in the 3.5 to 4 star range. I can't tell you how many times I've been burned by a well-rated router. This time I was determined to get it from Costco just so I can return it if it dies in the next 24 months. And right now, for under $200, this is the highest rated option available at Costco. It also has 4.4 stars with over 500 reviews at Costco. No guarantee that it will be a great router but it's nice to know that I have a worry free return option if it gives me fits.

i bought two of these on black friday at costco (~$135 each after sale price and additional online coupon). installed one at my place and another at my mom's place in another state. luckily, both have worked perfectly over the last six months. no drops--and a huge improvement in range over our prior netgear WNDR3700s. my mom's place has concrete walls--so the old routers could not reach the wireless security cameras. in my setup, i have 4k wireless cameras and other pcs, streaming devices, etc--a total of maybe 20+ devices using the triband wifi. the ac3000s are running smoothly with no issues and have had firmware updates about twice in the last six months. i was surprised to read all those reviews of drops on the costco.com site.

like the previous poster, bjsguess, after being burned by refurb'd, best buy, and amazon routers after a year or more, i resolved to always buy my routers from costco. if it ever happens that i have drops or any other dissatisfaction, i'll happily march back to costco (or even utilize the citibank extended warranty) and get my money back. i'm going to say costco'll probably take it back way after 24 months if i'm nice when i do it.

So it's not bound by their 90 day electronics policy? At least that's good news...
