This is the cheapest similarly spec'd 14" 8th gen with PCIE SSD (much faster than SATA SSD), $50 cheaper than previous deal. exp 5/13. comes out to $597.62 in CA, I know tax sucks but the extra warranty from costco makes up for it I think.

has USB type C port, but doesn't charge via it.

I've linked a nicely written review below. I think this is a great bang for the bucks for a fast and nice looking laptop.

I also want to highlight that it also has a LED IPS screen, back lit keyboard, and fingerprint sensor too.

Just a heads up for others, this has been the price all of April. The sale ended April 28th so I'm not sure why they just extended the sale for another week. A huge amount of backlight bleed on mine and the screen isn't as bright as I hoped but it's a good buy for the price.

What do you guys think of this Spin 5 at Costco vs the Swift 3? https://www.costco.com/.product.1187693.html I see about .4 pounds difference. Think the $50 difference is worth the smaller touchscreen? Am I missing anything else?

Looks good and has a touch screen; also lighter than the Swift.

How I wish the swift 5 was on sale. That one max out the spec and much lighter. Also, I think Acer has better keyboards than Dell. Maybe it's just my preference. I'm using a 9 year old Acer laptop and it types great.

yes it actually does as I used a Samsung 960 Evo in mine, but I returned mine due to the flimsy power adapter plug and the RAM is not up-gradable. Also trying to get inside the laptop I needed to buy special plastic spudger tools to pry carefully around the case several times before I could safely separate both halves without fear of bending or breaking the very thin meta;/plastic. Returned it back in December and now trying to find a similar laptop in features and price to use that Samsung 960 EVO I have needing a new home.

the Spin 5 doesn't have PCIe SSD, so i expect it to be slightly slower. But it does have a stylus, that makes it a wash i suppose. it's smaller than I wanted at 13", hence it's lighter. both are good solid choices i think.

I have the older model of this laptop only real difference is mine has the 2 core i5-7200U and I love it. I am personally in favor of the non-touch screen matte finish screen. I have the Dell 5289 touchscreen and my fingerprints all over the screen trigger my OCD.

BTW you can charge via the USB-C port with a Mac book Pro charger.
