Quicken Deluxe 2018 boxed software 2-year subscription for 50% off at $39.99 + free shipping.

Yeah, the new subscription model sucks but for about $20 / year it's far more reasonable.

Either via regular site:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/quic...Id=6112602

Or via eBay store as well:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/192378703481
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

To each do what you think. Not trying to TC. For what Quicken is selling, this is a good price.

I have 2017 and plan on running it as long as it will last before I knuckle under to their new price scam. If there was a viable alternative, I would be trying it. Maybe if enough of the public doesn't bite on their "lure" we won't get caught. Probably little hope of them changing policies at this point. Lack of competition has made the house cat fat and lazy IMHO.

Great deal! I have Quicken 2016. So I have 1 more year. Can I buy now and activate 12 months later?

Agreed which is why I refused to pay full price. But my 2015 just expired so figured at $20 a year it's ok.

Ride 2017 as long as you can - I think it's good through 2020.

I have seen 2018 this low twice now (last time was a couple months ago now). So you may find it on sale at a later date as well.

Is it good 2 years from activation? For example could I buy now and not activate until my 2017 craps out (2020?) then be good until 2022? Not saying I would do it but at least I'd lock in this price.

Quicken 2016 expires April 2019.

Under the new subscription model, a user gets a full 12 or 24 months of full Quicken functionality beginning when the user installs and activates the software.

This subscription based crap is exactly that. I'll keep 2017 until 2020. Hopefully there is another option by then.

With the new subscription model, do you get automatic upgrades to the current version available at the time? Would this get you 2018 and 2019 whenever that version is released based on this being a 2 year subscription?

You got that right. It will be interesting to see if they harvest emails from people trying to get the deal and then cancel it as a "price mistake" like the last time -- keeping all the emails and having gotten a lot of people to get rid of the old software they own and replace it with hard to remove "subscription only" software.

So what's the difference between the new model vs the old one? For the old ones, the service also expire after 2 years.

This is not directly from Quicken like that price mistake (clearly it was), but through Best Buy.
