You don't necessarily have to sign up. Usually we just show up. But is it just me or is it getting really popular and busy lately? And several time they've run out of the kits. So maybe signing up will help make sure they get enough of them.

It's not required. But it gives them a rough idea for supplies.

And I'm sure they are getting bombarded now that Lowes' stop their kid's workshop. I don't think Mendards have one.

I went by accident this past Saturday. They were building windmill flowerpots. Just some words of advice... if you don't have kids, for the love of God, avoid Home Depot on the first Saturday of every month.

It's warmer out, best go as early as you can. The windmill was packed and they usually have less tables for painting then assembly.

Better to be early because now that Lowe's does not do their build anymore, the kits go fast.

Took our five year old granddaughter this past Saturday and she loved it. The sense of pride she had was great. The windmill kit was well engineered to go together easily with minimal frustration. I second the suggestions above, plus have them wear older clothes and maybe take your own tools if you have them. (Tack hammer, Phillips screwdriver, glue, and small brush were needed for windmill.) And, please let the kids do the building. We saw numerous adults doing the assembly and painting for the kids.
