Just popped in here to say I really appreciate the OP giving all the vital details in the subject Smilie (Cpu, Video card, etc). Most of the time I have to dig into the posts (or worse, look up the specs elsewhere).

Hm...I think we should have some caution here. The pictures on the ebay listing don't actually seem to match that of the model number specified in the listing. The listing shows "ASUS R518UA-RS51T" as the model number. However, if you google that model number, you get several sites that show a different laptop in their pictures.

For example, here are walmart, b&h photo, and newegg:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ASUS-R.../705057723

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...b_1tb.html

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...6834234465

Of note, pay attention to the side ports, how the dedicated number pad is arranged, and the fact the ebay listing pictures show a finger print scanner on the touchpad while the listing description does NOT list it.

Based on more research, it looks like the pictures wrongfully used in this ebay listing are actually of the "ASUS VivoBook Flip 15 TP510UQ" model. link here: https://www.asus.com/2-in-1-PCs/A...5-TP510UQ/

It doesn't look like the seller is being 100% entirely honest here by using the wrong pictures. Still looks like a decent deal though.

Seems to be tax in NY only. Good deal if you need a touch screen. Most people are gonna want the newer i5 but you probably won't find a touch screen at this price point with the 8250u.

I would be very careful here. I you search for the model part number (R518UA-RS51T), then the amazon website (as an example) will tell you that this model; actually does not feature a GPU. Let alone that Amazon offers this computer for $600. So, the potential savings are $100, which you will need to weigh against the risk of that other portions of the product description may be misleading as well.

i dont think it's about honest or dishonest, it's more about not knowing wtf they have. trust me, it's the *only* reason.

The description doesn't claim to have a discrete GPU.

does ASUS recognize this reseller's order as "purchase date" or will it be purchase date that reseller bought it?
