Nice phone, but it's been at this price off and on at Amazon as well as other venues since it launched in February. I don't see how this as much of a deal, especially considering that the S9+ was available for $590 for a good chunk of time in April...

There's no way the S9+, a recently released ~$850 phone, can be had for that little unless it's with a carrier promotion tying you down for two years, BOGO deal, or something with a stipulation. This phone here is priced unlocked.

Went from the Mate 9 to the 10 Pro, didn't like it - ended up going back to Samsung for the S9+ and LOVE it. Offer SO much more than the Mate 10 Pro. And I got it for $449 with the AT&T 2 yr commitment Smilie They really took too many steps back with the 10 Pro - no SD card, no headphone jack. Plus only 1080P screen and no wireless charging.

Got this phone from an open box deal, and I gotta say I really enjoy it. Battery life is solid and the camera is awesome.

It was an outright purchase from Samsung.com for the AT&T version, which AT&T unlocks for free through their site for anyone. No contracts/service/financing BS involved.

I have been enjoying my unlocked S9+ for two weeks now, but yeah, it's easier to call others liars than to do a simple search which would show you the 220+ rated thread with 2300+ replies...

As for the Mate 10 Pro, $650 is the price for it more often than not. When it goes below $500, it will be a deal then.

This phone can't compete at $650. Prices will continue to drop, especially with Best Buy refusing to carry future Huawei models. I also question Huawei's desire to roll out regular OS updates given that they've been blackballed by the US gov't.

IMO, sub $450 is when this thing can be justified.

no, you will never see $450 price within next 2 years. They will just discontinue it and roll out next flagship phone.

US is not Huawei's target market anymore, so there won't be aggressive marketing play.
maybe you can wait for some BestBuy seller refurbished

GSM only.

For those of us who switch providers often, all carrier phones are a necessity today.

Have solid fact with evidence? (Other than US government telling you so without evidence to back up the claim?)

Rumor is that US government does not want these phones being used by US government employees is due to the fact they they do NOT have required back door software for US government. Of course, there is no evidence of this rumor either.

How did you get it for $450 from AT&T. There will be another $20 increase in your bill for every month with 2 year agreement. they didn't charge you this additional $20 per month?

That's the point. There is no "next" flagship in the US, and with no chance that BB (or other retailers) will carry Huawei models in the future, Huawei won't buy back existing, unsold stock.

Any retailer that's carrying Huawei phones will have to sell out their stock to minimize losses. That means huge discounts to clear out inventory. At $650, nobody's buying this phone.
