Craftsman 50 ft Rubber Hose - Heavy Duty $14.99 Sears sales ad pricing error B&M very YMMV

Got an ugly surprise - our last Sears Store (Kmart's been long gone) has been taken off the "order for pick-up" system by the District Manager. Sort of sucked with $20 expiring from the KMart Lego Deal. I checked the local ad, and my spouse stopped by on the way to visit the kids.

That's the link to the local ad. You then need to choose "Show AD"on the ad for May 06-13 with the "Celebrate Mom" on it, or at least here in Louisville, KY you do.

They don't have page numbers except on the html address line, which shows the deal on page 49. So choose the "Jump to Section" button on the top, and go to "Lawn and Garden". It's on the fifth page, or the third pair of pages if you are displaying two pages at a time. The top three items are pressure washes. The bottom are the Craftsman Heavy Duty Rubber Hoses.

The middle item at the bottom displays the Craftsman Premium Rubber Garden Hose 50 feet for $14.99. This is a price mistake. If you click "see details" you get the 25 foot hose. Go anywhere else on Sears.com or in store and the 50 footer is more. Go to checkout, have the ad up and ready at checkout, and firmly but respectfully insist on them honoring the price. This is not a price match, but an error on their print catalog.

FYI the store didn't even have any print ads available. Also it's pretty stripped, so it's obvious they are going to close it soonish. That will totally remove them from Louisville, but for you other folks, do NOT assume you can order items for pickup from Sears.com for local pickup for a points deal. Even if you have a local store, they can pull it out of the system. Double check BEFORE you make the deal for the points, so you are aware you'll have to make the shipping minimums if your store is doing this, or pray they will have the item in stock.

They don't have to honor it, but congrats on getting it. Since your store is closing, they probably didn't care as much.

This doesn't seem to be B&M as I was able to just order online for store pickup and was able to use an additional $1.50 coupon on my account bringing my after tax total to $14.44.

Get the popcorn out and wait for the comments.

I'm surprised the mods haven't added alerts to SD when you try and post a P mistake and warn of what is about to happen if your post isn't what everyone expects as a deal.

It does seem like a price mistake. Why would the shorter hose be more expensive? Also seems the previous frontpage deals for this hose have all been $20 so like 30% cheaper here if purchased online.

Went on their website earlier and it had been at the more "normal" price, something over $20. Thanks for the info. BTW I posted this as much because anybody who purchased the Kmart Lego deal a couple of weeks back is staring at expiring points, and even with all the Chinese made crap Sears sells now, these hoses are pretty good. Since I split the SYWR points between the two purchases, the Lego was slightly over 50% off retails, and the hoses cost me just under $10 out of pocket apiece. Not smokin' hot, but solid. Smilie

I am very careful about that, but in this case it really was a price mistake. I labeled the OP as clearly as possible, so SDers who browse and check could see exactly what it was. I refuse to be held hostage by the dealers and resellers who throw temper-tantrums if it isn't handed to them all pretty tied up with a huge discount and no limit for them to clean out before many, if any, regular SD contributors benefit. I'm not criticizing your post, you were nice enough to note what I did in case I'd never been burned on a Price Mistake pile-on before

BTW there are some dealers who are good memebers out there. To them I apologize beforehand. For the rest of them, especially those who complain on the thread and when you check their deals, there are none - well, it walks like a price mistake, it quacks like a price mistake, and it's linked like a price mistake. Somehow I ended up getting this online for $5 and change after a discount and $8 in some kind of free cash offer that it said I could redeem. Plus I think that I get $10 in points for in-vehicle pick up. So that's a big thumbs up and reps from me.

Thanks.

Went to my local Sears last night and pulled up ad on my phone. Sale price at the store was $24.99. Manager price adjusted (4) 50' hoses for me. Had $8 in free cash to make total with tax $56.24. Awesome deal, thanks OP!
