What is Amazon Cash
You can go to one of the participating stores, give them cash (about credit card below), and get that cash loaded to your Amazon account.
It's like gift card amount.
Why use Amazon Cash
Amazon "is trying" to catch the market which doesn't have credit/debit card and instead of dealing with plastic gift cards, you get to just get the amount loaded to your Amazon account. Any amount. Can be an odd $19 and such.
It's like Amazon bank and these participating stores are atms where you deposited money.
Cash vs Credit card
The intent of the program is to target customers with cash. So Amazon describes the program as cash only. But these participating stores are not all too well informed.
Many of the stores haven't heard about Amazon cash and those that have, the system hasn't been hard coded to accept only cash. So, for now, credit cards have been working just fine.
Utility of the program VS the deal
Yes, this program is kind of a fail. Many users here who shop at Amazon very regularly haven't even heard about Amazon cash.
The targeted audience without credit/debit card will most likely have no clue either.
But whatever Amazon is trying to do, they're trying to make the program be made aware of with these promotions and it's free money. So it's a great deal.
First time users
Almost everyone who have used a deal like this before have reported they don't see the ad banner and doesn't seem like they qualify.
One Sder who has done it before reported he took the advantage of this deal again. But didn't reply back with the details.
I really suggest to read these. Will clarify most of the details:
