I would think this late in the game ... for the Moto E4 ... the next version ... Moto E5 should be coming out very, very soon. The Moto E4 came out about this time last year, give or take a month.

During the last year , tons of us picked up the verizon version for 29-39 dollars and sim unlocked it.

I guess go for the Moto E4 if you don't want to wait.

Moto E5 is 5.7"

I have been waiting on a deal for E4 - this price is closer to the BF - perhaps marginally worse. I used some GCs and bought it at BB after price matching

I could have bring the net price a bit down by bundling with prepaid card offer - I would only be better off by $16 - not much plus risk. Unlocked phones don't go down in price.. I am particular about the size of the phone. E4 fits me but not E5. It might not have been the slickest deal but Laptop trading at BB was - so went for it. Being shipped now - 15 days for additional price match. Do I have the refused to accept shipment and avoid $35 restocking fee?

I did not want to use 3rd party unlock code on Verizon deal.

BB refurbished comes with 90 day warranty - this one is 1yr. Refurbished had speaker issues on reviews.

Sounds good. As long as you watched the youtube videos on the E5 play and E5 plus before you make your purchase you should be fine.

I was just informing people that within the next month the moto E5 play and moto E5 plus would be coming out with Oreo OS and some other goodies. And we don't know if Walmart will discount it like they did on the E4.

Let us know how you like your E4.

Also E5 has non-removable battery

Guy, your info is just wrong. that is why I was telling you to research it.

There are 2 models the E5 play and the E5 plus.

The E5 play is like the E4 , and has smaller screen size and removable battery like the E4 with Oreo OS and fingerprint scanner on back of unit, not front.

The E5 PLUS is bigger screen size, and non-removeable battery that is 5,000 ... and could last 2 days on one charge. Time will tell how long it lasts in real life tests.

I really was trying to help you bro, because if you actually did research it, you would see the E5 play and E5 Plus are 2 different animals , so research it. And if you are satisfied with the E4 , go for it. I do own a few moto E4's and I love them. And I will probably pick up a E5.

p.s. I did pick up the E4's for 29 dollars , and another for 39 dollars with 2 dollar unlock.

My VZW E4 as well as another vz moto started having issues on T-Mobile network - some calls going straight to voice mail. It started happening recently, not sure if t-mobile is making changes to their towers freeing up frequencies or not, but these 2 phones are about 5 miles apart so they are connecting to different towers. So maybe VZW versions are not that good for T-Mobile any longer, although I remember seeing 'H' or 'H+' on unlocked moto while VZ moto had '4g LTE' (same spot. both on t-mobile network)

Again, stop saying it's unlocked. Not only is the carrier version not bootloader unlockable, it also permanently locked to fewer bands and Verizon will blacklist it. You end up with a crippled phone this late in the life cycle that will soon have zero value. $100 for true unlocked is where it's at without bundles. $80 is what you can get if you get the prepaid bundle at Best Buy. Soon there will none left, doubtful the price will go any lower.

LOL! Read carefully! I said you can sim unlock the E4. It cost me 2 dollars when I did it.

I understand the difference between rooting a device and sim unlocking. Smilie

I have a rooted E4 too .. in addition to sim unlocked. But I don't need to go into that.

So please just be nice ... I'm not intentionally trying to give false info. And basically my comments in this room was just to say a "new verison Moto is coming out soon, so before you make your decision , research both versions.

@richman - I can understand your view - huge price difference between the two.

Highlights:
- Factory unlocked phones rarely go on sale - when they do, $30 is once I had on a BF sale
- Walmart phones are sold out - see the demand for $99 price
- BestBuy never stocked these phones in the BM stores - if they did, then there is a reason it goes on a better price
- I let the BF prices, prob lowest $94 to pass by and waited behind alerts - this is the best price. Those who unlock for $2 and those on Swappa are also going for about $99. So I got a brand new with 1yr warranty for $99 - sw update from Google too

That's said when E5 is out, or during BF, there might be better price if there is stock. History shows better prices on front end though
