this set has been this price for MONTHS so not really slick. i use this set every day at work (It was purchased for me) also the set does have a lot of "filler" pieces (screw bits/hex keys) which are useful but are cheaper items used to bulk up the piece count of the set. the worst part of this set is the case. the pieces are incredibly hard to get out of their storage space. u literally have to bring a screwdriver with you to pry them out. the case is also very large and not easy to carry around (I prefer the drawer type cases for sets this large). quality of tools is ok, not great, not bad just ok. i have some stanley and kobalt tool sets also which i prefer over this set. also the identification on the tools (especially the sockets) is very difficult to read.

The small pieces that everyone always complains about every time a portable general use mechanic's set is listed aren't "fillers", but are frequently needed tools to remove various covers, shields, clips, clamps, brackets, etc., often found on modern equipment. If you get a tool set without these allen wrenches and driver bits, then you'll likely have to supplement your kit with another bag or box of allens and drivers. I suppose they could have included full drivers in this kit instead of bits, but then it would cost more and the case would no longer be so compact and portable.

If you want a relatively complete set of tools to tackle a variety of projects in compact portable case that is easy to store in the trunk or on a garage shelf, then this DeWalt set is a great option (though I hear that getting the individual tools out can be difficult for some). If you are looking for tools to fill your big ol' toolbox, then consider looking for socket sets, wrench sets and driver sets instead.

Also, Harbor Freight sells this for $30. I know because I have it although it is not Dewalt brand.
That is hilarious

I got this set on sale a few months ago. It is just an OK set. Like Ian said it would make a great set to put in your truck or as one you were carrying around. It does seem to have decent ratchets. Many of the 200 pieces are bit heads.

I did put one of the 1/2" sockets on my impact today for what I thought would be an easy nut to remove but it wasn't. I was actually kind of impressed that it did not break so I guess that is a good thing. Overall I am happy with the set but have never felt it was a screaming deal.
