I have one of these and highly recommend. Powers thru everything I have around the house (haven't had to cut and heavy brush) and the 2.5 battery last plenty long to trim my 1 acre

My bad. You all are right. The "lower price" made me think it was on sale! Sorry all.

This is the 1st gen. The 2nd gen is out with a composite rod and an one button automatic reload. With battery and charger for 229 is a way better deal.

Can you elaborate? Other than the material and the loading feature, any other difference? I really want to get an ego blower and this trimmer seems real attractive too. Ugh if only they have a combo deal.

The weight, the composite trimmer is lighter without batteries than this but they both have the same brushless motor. It 50 bucks different for the latest and greatest so it up to you. They both are great trimmer nonetheless.

I bought this about 3 wks ago. Indeed, it is very powerful. I have a few questions.

1. When you hand-spin the head, do you head some noise? I have kinda rattle sound.
2. My origin string broke too often. How is yours?
3. The cap is hard to remove and insert?

I am thinking about exchange for a new one.

It is not 1st gen or 2nd gen. They are 2 different models. Just like samsung Evo 960 and Evo 960 pro Smilie
