I bought one on an earlier slickdeal and love it. Sure it's not an apple or Samsung - but it is not $300. This vendor has all 3 colors - others have it a bit cheaper but only the gold.

For this price this watch is a steal and it doesn't need Verizon. I use it with my Total Wireless phone. Yes it has a few weird habits and isn't perfect - but after wearing it 2 months I am 100% satisfied. Build quality is XLNT same company that builds Apple watch I read,

Is this the same watch as in all the other Wear24 deals that have been posted over the last few months?

It looks like it but I don't recall seeing any of the other ones referring to the watch as 'Quanta' (just as Wear24 by Verizon)

Yep - it's the same - usually sold as "Verizon" - Quanta is the manufacturer

I'm looking to get smart watches for my kids so that we can develop better routines and stay on better schedules. They are 8 and 10. Can anyone speak to this watch being a good find for this purpose?

Bought mine from this seller a month or two ago. It's listed as Brand New, Unopened. What I received was something that had been opened and then resealed in a way to try to make it look like it had never been opened. To be fair, I've seen a complaint or two about this in regards to these watches as sold by other merchants as well. That said, I haven't had any issues with the watch that aren't related to software, updates, etc. and generally speaking I really like it. Would completely love it if the NFC had ever been enabled and I could easily swap out the cheap rubber band for something else.

I'd be concerned that the watch would be too big. The face is the same height but even wider than the larger of the two Apple Watch sizes. The aforementioned band could be an issue as well. I did my best to measure it and it looks like the smallest notch will accommodate a wrist of ~6-3/8" circumference.

Can this watch be used as a standalone? Like I can leave my phone at home and make and receive calls on the watch?

Yes, but you have to have Verizon, and the watch needs to have it's own separate phone service. It is basically it's own phone if you use it like that.

Absolute junk! The seller is selling as new but they are obviously used. Both the wife and myself bought one each and they are going back!
