Last gen Core i5, DDR3 not DDR4, small screen. QHD+ and SSD must be the trade-off but doesn't really fit what I'd be looking for.

I owned this for about 6 months. Solid laptop for the price. Extremely light. Very long battery life. The screen tho felt much smaller than the 14" Lenovo t460s 14" I bought. I ended up keeping the Lenovo. But the build quality and performance of this machine was great.

Edit, went to order, but changed mind. No touchscreen. Deal breaker for me in this form factor. Too bad. Not convince this is a "deal" at this price point without touchscreen.

---

Good price on this unit. I have two older zenbooks. The first one suffered from the dreaded hinge separation problem, and the second one (a new gen) went back to Asus as it started to exhibit the same hinge cracking problem for the same problem but it's been solid for 2 years now. I'm thinking about jumping on this.

ANY ebay 15% coupon deals floating around ?

No tax and the latest model.
30 day warranty on your suggestion. no thanks. This from his feedback,,, "Customer Left Negative feedback without asking for help I provide 30day warranty"

Although this is a great laptop, it has a fatal flaw that ASUS has refused to address for years - the hinges on the screen. This affects all UX303, 305, 330 series laptops. Despite the laptop having an aluminum chassis and case, the only plastic part is the screen bezel to which the metal hinges are glued/molded to. The hinges themselves are solid, in fact, too solid and tight. So after about a year or so (people have reported different lifespans), the metal hinge breaks off from the plastic bezel and your screen can no longer close straight. The problem gets worse until the moment when you can no longer close the screen.

Google ASUS UX broken hinge and you will see a lot of complaints about this. ASUS has refused to change/improve the design for years now.

The UX390 has a different hinge design and is too new for anyone to report any issues.

That's the thing. I still love Asus, and I'm still willing to deal with the hinge issue. It is a pretty solid laptop outside of that.
